Context

The starting point.

A fellowship programme needed to serve several audiences at once: applicants deciding whether to apply, current fellows looking for programme information, and partners and funders assessing credibility and impact.

Approach

How the project was structured.

  • 01

    Audience mapping

Three distinct journeys were defined, apply, participate, and evaluate, and the navigation was built to serve all three without clutter.

  • 02

    Content architecture

Cohorts, events, stories, and galleries were modelled as structured content so each year adds to the archive instead of replacing it.

  • 03

    Application journey

The path from programme overview to submitted application was shortened and made explicit at every stage.

  • 04

    Impact presentation

Stories and galleries were given a consistent format that shows outcomes without overstating them.

  • 05

    Responsive build

A content-heavy site engineered to stay fast on modest connections and devices.

Design focus

What the build prioritised.

We publish design and engineering decisions rather than unverified performance claims. Where a client shares analytics and agrees to publication, results are added here.

  • One platform serving applicants, fellows, and partners
  • Cohort content that accumulates year on year
  • A clear, unambiguous application path
  • Galleries and stories in a repeatable format
  • Editable by the programme team

Constraints

What the work had to fit inside.

Every project has limits that shape the solution more than the brief does. These were the ones that mattered here.

Built on

Structured content modelCohort archive schemaResponsive component libraryMedia optimization
  • Three audiences with conflicting needs sharing one navigation
  • An archive that grows every cohort and cannot be rebuilt annually
  • Partner and funder scrutiny of how impact is represented

Governance

Programme team held editorial approval; impact claims were reviewed against source material before publication, and the format was designed so future cohorts extend the archive rather than replace it.

On results

We publish performance figures only from a client’s own analytics, with their written permission, and we do not publish numbers we cannot show the source for. Where a prospective client needs evidence of outcomes, we arrange a reference conversation with the client concerned at shortlist stage.
